I am an advocate of ending every year looking back at what made the past twelve months special and unique. Last year was especially unique as I got married! Having my wedding day photographed by a good friend of mine sure gave me a new understanding of and appreciation for wedding photography. Professionally, last year I was honored to be part of a number of weddings, for which I was trusted with capturing the magical and beautiful moments of two becoming one. As with every wedding, I left each wedding of 2011 with my favorite shots, and today I share my top ten with you. I hope that you enjoy them!
I love the elegance in this shot, taken at Victor and Jovy’s wedding at the La Estancia Hotel in La Jolla, CA
The sun shining through these trees captured a really beautiful moment at Debbie and Kevin’s wedding in Palos Verdes, CA.
I love this wide angle shot taken at Gary and Tricia’s wedding in Dana Point.
The minute I shot this photo at Courtney and Mike’s wedding in Temecula,CA, I knew it would be my favorite photo of the wedding.
Another photo from Victor and Jovy’s wedding in La Jolla.
This location in Pismo Beach, CA was a spectacular place to capture special moments between Monty and Missy.
Another photo from Kevin and Debbie’s wedding at the Trump Resort in Palos Verdes.
Another favorite from Monty and Missy’s wedding at San Luis Obispo’s Mission, CA

I’m excited to share some photos from a wedding I shot back in February, with my old boss and amazing photographer Dane Sanders. The wedding took place at the Estancia Hotel and Spa in La Jolla, California, which made for a beautiful location. It was a gorgeous wedding and I’m glad I can finally share some photos from the day.
As I usually do on my wedding photography blog, below are a few of my favorites of the day:
The groom, Victor, finishing getting ready.
This wedding was a traditional Chinese wedding, started off by a Tea Ceremony with both the bride’s and the groom’s parents and grandparents. Here Victor and Jovy receive a blessing from their grandmother.
Here, they come before Jovy’s parents.
Precious gifts given to the bride during the Tea Ceremony, as is traditional during Chinese weddings.
Definitely a favorite…
Here, some pictures of Jovy getting ready for the ceremony.
The ambience, on a beautiful sunny day, typical for San Diego.
Husband and Wife.
A moment of prayer.
A few intimate moments before the reception.
It was an honor to help photograph Victor and Jovy’s wedding. If you enjoyed my work, we are currently booking weddings for the summer and fall. Email me if you are interested.
The beginning of a new year triggers many to look back at a year that’s come to its end, and to look ahead at what the new year could potentially bring. As I look back, I am most definitely grateful for the doors that God has opened for me professionally, and beyond; doors that allow me to dream and believe for more of His abundance in the months and years to come.
Looking over the photo shoots I have done in 2010, I decided to share my top ten favorite wedding photos. I had the honor of shooting some great weddings in 2010 and I enjoyed being invited in and becoming a part of each and every one of them.
I am hopeful that in 2011 I will continue to capture the magical beauty that is to be found in every celebration of the loving union of a man and his bride.
These are my top ten favorite wedding photos shot in 2010 (in no particular order)
Sean and Jessica’s wedding took place at Travis AFB in Northern California in January. The venue allowed for much shooting creativity.
Tyler and Mike’s wedding took place in April in San Diego and Rancho Santa Fe and it was a grand party.
I love how this detail shot from the wedding came out…
Tyler and Mike’s sparkler exit.
Jonathan and Laura’s wedding in Santa Monica was a very special day. This Santa Monica home, that doubled as an art gallery, was an amazing place to shoot in.
This photo was shot right after the ceremony. I love the expressions of joy on both the groom and the bride’s face.
I loved the spectacular venue for Nicolette and Anthony’s wedding, held in the Temecula Wine Country.
April and Neil’s wedding at the La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla was a treat. I love this shot and how the sunlight surrounds them.
This photo speaks for itself.
And, to conclude, this has to be my favorite cake-cutting photo I have ever taken. The connection between April and Neil is priceless.
These are just my top picks. More of my wedding work is available in the galleries. I hope you enjoyed looking over them. A few weeks ago I helped shoot April and Neil’s wedding with Allie Gonzales in Rancho Santa Fe and La Jolla. It was a beautiful wedding and a special day to be a part of. The wedding ceremony took place at a church in Rancho Santa Fe and the reception was held at the La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla.
Here, the father of the bride is walking her down the aisle.
April’s joy was evident
This little flower girl was adorable
All that mattered to them was each other…
I love how the light surrounds them in these shots
Ready to enjoy the party!

This has to be my favorite cake-cutting photo I have ever taken
The La Valencia Hotel was a great location.
The end to a great night
A few weeks ago, I shot these engagement photos for Simone and Tracy at the Santa Monica Pier. It was a really fun shoot, and I had a great time hanging out with these two. They are a great couple and really fun to photograph.
