I went on a trip to the Grand Canyon this last weekend, with my family and Nathalie. It was a really nice break from everything that has been going on the last few weeks and some treasured time with Nathalie before she leaves for the Middle East this summer.
I also had an amazing time photographing on this trip. Here are some of the photos from the weekend.
I love this photo of the desert that I shot with my iPhone driving 75 mph. I love how the iPhone captured the road as a blur and the background sharp and clear.
We found this truck at one the stops we made in Southern Utah/Northern Arizona. It was a lot of fun to take some photos of it…
We stayed at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon for one night, which was more secluded and still than the South Rim. I had visited the South Rim many times before.
My dad and my sister hiked from the North Rim to the South Rim, while Nathalie, my mom, and I drove around the Grand Canyon. It was a 250-mile drive around this massive hole in the ground. It truly puts the magnitude of the canyon into perspective.
My favorite lookout at the Grand Canyon is the Desert View Lookout, which I discovered a few years ago while visiting the Grand Canyon with some of my South African friends. It allows one to look at the canyon from the East, with a view also of the Colorado River.
