Back in July, I shot an intimate wedding of four in Pismo Beach. Monty and Melissa are from Ohio, but they wanted to celebrate their union in sunny California prior to having a reception at home. I connected with Melissa via Twitter who, in looking for a local photographer, asked if I would be up for spending the day with them and shooting special moments of their celebration. Their only witnesses where their pastor and his wife and, although I had never photographed such as small wedding before, I knew that I would enjoy spending a day with the bride and groom as they start their life together.
Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo were the couple’s favored locations, and their wedding day turned out to be a gorgeous summer day. After exchanging their vows, I spent a few hours photographing the newly weds in both locations, enjoying not just the beautiful surroundings, but also hearing the story of Monty and Melissa. Below I share a few amongst my favorite shots…

Here, Melissa on her way to meet her husband-to-be.

The rings…

Monty’s chic French Cuffs.

All set to say “I do!”

The ceremony overlooked the Central Coast, allowing us to enjoy a beautiful view.

Communion, the first act as husband and wife.

After the ceremony we took some photos around Pismo Beach.

We finished the evening at the San Luis Obispo Mission.

It was an honor to photograph Monty and Melissa’s wedding. If you enjoyed my work, we are currently booking weddings for the fall and next year. Email me if you are interested.
